Our special trainer Eng. Albaraa Alkilani alongside the trainer Eng. Iman Hindi recently delivered a uniqe training workshop, titled "Reinforcement Learning in Action: MATLAB in Intelligent Systems," hosted by Al Hussein Technical University (HTU), to an exceptional audience of distinguished engineering professors, scholars, researchers, industry professionals, and outstanding engineering students.
The workshop was carefully designed to bridge the gap between rigorous theoretical foundations and practical engineering implementation. One of its greatest strengths was the development of a learning journey that transformed complex reinforcement learning concepts into tangible, interactive experiences through hands-on MATLAB and Simulink applications.
Recognizing that Reinforcement Learning (RL) can initially seem abstract, the training focused on making the subject practical, accessible, and directly applicable to real-world intelligent systems. Participants explored the core principles of RL, including the interaction between agents and environments, reward function design, environment modeling, agent behavior, and strategies for applying these concepts to solve engineering challenges.
Beyond the technical content, the workshop was distinguished by the remarkable level of engagement from the participants. Insightful questions, dynamic discussions, and thoughtful exchanges elevated the sessions from foundational learning to meaningful conversations about real-world implementation, research opportunities, and engineering best practices.
We extend our sincere appreciation to IEEE IES Jordan Section and IEEE RAS HTU Student Chapter for their invaluable efforts in organizing and supporting this event. Their dedication and commitment played a vital role in creating a highly successful learning experience and fostering the advancement of intelligent systems and engineering education within the community.
